This body of work is based on the story of Demeter and Persephone; a very powerful story that explores the mysteries of the seasons, birth, death, resurrection, heaven and hell, relationships and the sacred and enduring love and sacrifice between a parent and child.  It is a story that spans the continents and crosses into most religious and cultural belief systems.

It has also been a personal journey for me.  The story, the struggle and the agony of loss and the found love of relationships.  This body of work has pushed me to a different level of painting, making me explore different surfaces, mixed media and texture.
